Self-Esteem and Energy!
Posted by: | CommentsDr Joe Rubino told listeners in the “Manage Your Energy, Master Your Life” TeleSummit last night that even though he started out as a dentist, he had very low self-esteem. He was successful monetarily, but he wasn’t happy. So what? he said to himself. That’s life. There was nothing he could do about it. He’d chosen his career and now had to live with it.
Low Self-Esteem means low energy!
But he couldn’t live with it. He said that even if he’d known how to change his life, he had no energy to do that and the little energy he did have was negative. That’s what happens when you have low self-esteem–it makes your energy weak and grey.
That’s why self-esteem and the amount of energy we have are so related and why I wanted to have Joe in the Telesummit series. I can’t think of ANYTHING more detrimental to a person’s ability to create their lives than a lack of self-esteem! It affects everything.
Raising Your Self-Esteem Creates a Happier Life!
Nonetheless, slowly Joe began to make changes. Now he’s is a world expert in creating high self esteem and he travels all over the world with his programs. And, he loves his life. In fact, he calls it a “12 out of 10″ life and challenges others to go for their best life too.
Listening to Joe’s Talk on Self-Esteem!
I was totally inspired by Joe’s talk last night. Not only did he share personally about his own life, but he gave a ton of tips on how to increase your self-belief and raise your esteem. It was a moving and inspiring talk. To listen to it anytime in the next 48 hours, click HERE!
Lastly, mark your calendar for Wednesday night (5 Pacific, 8 EST) when Elyse Killoran is going to talk about higher dimensions of energy and demonstrate tools that will profoundly impact your experiences of money, business-building and self-worth! Double Dog Dare of Self-Love!

SELF-LOVE
I interviewed Christine Arylo, the ‘Queen of Self-Love’ on the “Manage Your Energy, Master Your Life” TeleSummit last night. Wow–she was INSPIRING!
She said that when she started her journey, she knew nothing about self-love. But she did know she wanted to live a more self-loving life than the one she was currently leading (in the corporate world), so she made a vow. That’s how it all started. A vow. That she would love herself no matter what. From there, she figured it out.
FEAR & SELF-LOVE!
One of the things she figured out was the way fear can warp our energy and make loving ourselves more difficult. (To listen to the call, here is the replay information It’s only available until 8 pm this Wednesday so go get it! Or, to get info about the rest of the series, go HERE!)
For most of us, nothing can make us feel smaller, more constricted and unworthy as quickly as fear. So Christine has come up with the 40 Day Fear Cleanse. It looks like a great program, one I’m going to do myself. Check it out to see if its for you. 40 Day Fear Cleanse!
“VOWING” SELF-LOVE
Meanwhile, however, since Christine loves to make what she calls “Love dares”, she tossed one out. The dare is to make this vow: “I will love myself for the rest of my life no matter what.”
I like dares too! So I’m going to up her dare so now it’s a double dare. And since my two dogs are beside me, I’ll add them into the mix too, so now it’s a double dog dare to make that vow!!!
Can you?
Of course you can! If it’s challenging, give me a call!
That’s it for this week. For those of you who subscribe to HA!, my HappinessAnyway.com newsletter, I’m going to be repeating the same content while the TeleSummmit is on! Self-Love abounds!
Quantum Jumping and YOU!
Posted by: | CommentsQuantum Physics/Quantum Jumping!
Those of you who’ve studied Napoleon Hill. of “Think and Grow Rich” fame, know he regularly did a visualization where he talked to people in other era’s to help him solve problems he was experiencing and get inspiration. Some new thinkers are calling this Quantum Jumping.
Even though many other creative geniuses, like Thomas Edison, didn’t call it Quantum Jumping, they have reported using this technique to great benefit. The idea is to create a kind of support team using people who you think could give you helpful advice, even if those people are from other periods of time.
A Video On Quantum Jumping!
To explain it further, here is a really interesting video that describes the process of quantum jumping. At the end, it alludes to someone who’s doing something similar just now, but doesn’t tell you the name. That person is Burt Goldman and his process is actually called Quantum Jumping. You can check him out on the Internet. He’s hot right now.
Quantum Jumping is definitely on the ‘edge’ and may be too “woo-woo” for some of you, but I’ve been experimenting with it for a few months now and I’m not only enjoying it, I’m getting some great results. See if it’s for you. As always, I want to offer you some of the cutting edge material to consider for your happiness and growth!!!

Happiness Right Now!
Posted by: | CommentsHappiness and Big Things:
We tend to think happiness is found in the BIG things, the right job, the wonderful relationship, ect, but in my experience, this isn’t true. For the most part, happiness is a very momentary thing and can often be found in the small, almost inconsequential minutia of life. If we understand this, we can make small behaviour changes and bring lovely feelings of happiness into our lives on a far more regular basis.
Where Does Happiness Come From?
Most of our happiness and well being comes through our senses, so that’s the place to start. Usually, there are all kinds of things that are pleasing to our senses at any given time. See if that’s true for you right now. Take a moment to sniff the air, or feel it on your skin. Or look out the window and notice the colours or the beauty of some natural object. Or, think of someone you love and feel the swell of your heart.
Look for What’s Pleasing!
If you take the time to look for small things that make you happy, you’ll find the need to pursue the bigger pleasures becomes less important. This is good for the bigger pleasures can take more time to create and meanwhile, there is such a plethora of deliciousness that life offers us each and every moment, why wouldn’t you want to take advantage of that?
A Happiness Challenge!
Take a moment to look around you right now. Find one or two things that are really pleasing. Now focus on those things. Really take in whatever is wonderful about them. Imagine yourself filling up your body with the happiness these pleasures bring.
Now notice if you feel different!
Thought so!
Here’s a lovely video to watch. Lots of wisdom here!
Also, please pass this newsletter on to anyone you think would benefit! Thanks!
Fostering The Spirit
Posted by: | CommentsFostering the spirit was the last thing I was thinking about as I sat at my computer. I had been working for a few hours and thought I really should stay at it for a while and get my newsletter done. Problem was, part of me yearned to go outside. It was a beautiful morning and I hadn’t been out to enjoy it yet and I wanted to.
Nonetheless, the part that was ‘should-ing’ me was giving me it’s opinion very loudly.
I went outside anyway. Why? Because I’ve learned that fostering the spirit is vital for happiness.
Is Fostering the Spirit Selfish?
As I was walking, the loveliness of the day breezed through me and I thought how good it was that I’d left my desk. As a child, I’d often been told that doing things that made me feel good was selfish. Perhaps it was–in childhood most of us are awfully self-centered.
Unfortunately, that belief got installed as a truth, a truth I have to challenge from time to time. One of the ways I do that is by differentiating between doing things that are me-centered, as in the personality of me and doing things that are soul centered.
When I do something from ‘me’-centeredness, I’m usually focussed on some sort of outcome that I believe is important (rightly or wrongly).Even if I get what I believe I want or need, there is usually a resulting feeling of constriction and/or smallness. However, when I put my soul first, I feel large, expansive and what results are feelings of wanting to give more.
For example, if I’d stayed at my desk, I would have attended to my worldly ‘me’ goal and gotten my newsletter done, but I would have felt tense. As it was, I honoured my beingness and went outside. I noticed right away how my energy went up and I felt really good and then wanted to write a really great newsletter rather than just get it done)
What Happens When We Aren’t Fostering The Spirit!
When we fail in fostering the spirit, we often resort to other behaviours that we think will make us happy: we buy stuff, work at getting acclaim, etc, but often happiness still does not come. How can it? Happiness IS the result of attunement to who we really are. That means listening to ourselves at a really deep level and then doing everything we can to live a life that is aligned with that attunement. When you are fostering the spirit in that way, true happiness just flows.
Fostering the Spirit Creates Happiness!
I like to encourage you to foster YOUR spirit. You can tell that you’re doing it when you feel light, airy and expansive. You’re not needy of other things to happen. When you hit the bull’s eye like this and meet a ‘core’ need, your soul will simply smile And nothing else will need to happen!
And speaking of core needs, I want to tell you about a resource for your health and well-being. A colleague of mine, Rachel Assuncao, has developed a 14 day e-course that’s designed to help you make simple and manageable changes to improve your health. I’ve just done it myself and loved it. Although some of the material was familiar, the repetition was good and some of the material was new to me. I really liked that.
The course, called 14 Days to a Healthier New You, offers a daily practical tip or recipe to help you improve your health and wellbeing. The course is free and I highly recommend it.

Possibility Thinking
Posted by: | CommentsHere is a short video on Possibility Thinking:
Switching to Possibility Thinking:
Stories like this are inspiring. They get us to switch from impossibility thinking to possibility thinking. Here are some ways to do that yourself.
Ask yourself these questions:
What IS working?
What, even in the smallest way, is GOOD about this?
How would a Possibility Thinker handle this situation?
Possibility Thinking is Powerful!
As you can see, we can learn Possibility Thinking. It just takes practice. But it’s SO worth it, because our moods and actions usually follow thought. Possibility Thinking is a POWERFUL thing to do!!
The World’s First Bionic Burger!
Posted by: | CommentsLately I’ve been changing my diet. I’m fascinated with the relationship between diet and happiness so I’ve been experimenting with eating more alkaline foods rather than acid forming foods. One of the things I’ve noticed as a result is how much calmer I feel. And less reactive. Maybe it’s just co-incidence, but I find it interesting. My sleep is better too.
As I’ve been reading about alkaline and acid foods, and alive food versus dead food and toxic food, I came across this fascinating video. The story began about 2 decades ago when a man bought 2 Big Macs. He ate 1 and stuffed the other one in his pocket for later…. that later didn’t happen for a year….. here’s what he discovered—check it out. Be prepared to groan! Here’s the link to the World’s First Bionic Burger:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYyDXH1amic&feature=player_embedded
It reminds me of that film by Morgan Spurlock, Super Sized Me.where he vividly demonstrated the consequences of trying to sustain yourself on a diet of fast food. After just FOUR WEEKS, Spurlock’s health had deteriorated to the point that his physician warned him he was putting his life in serious jeopardy if he continued the experiment.
His cholesterol had soared and he started suffering from depression, lack of attention, and sexual dysfunction, just to name a few of the health problems that surfaced once he traded in his normal diet for three square meals a day from McDonald’s.
His documentary ended up earning the Writers Guild of America award for Best Documentary Screenplay in 2005.
Responding to claims that it’s food is ‘dead’, McDonalds has fired back stating that their burgers will indeed decompose if given “enough time.” But just how much time has yet to be determined. Based on private experiments, like the one in the video above, two decades is still not enough time to make these burgers and buns disappear by natural means. Here’s the link again:

1) Basically, I like myself.
2) I get regular exercise.
3) I have major fun at least once a week.

5) Mostly, I love my job.
6) I have loving, supportive family/friends.
7) I rarely dwell on past hurts and disappointments.
I take 100% responsibility for my thoughts, feelings and outcomes.

I’ll explain over the weeks why each of these in important and give some ways to increase your score. But if you’d like to kick start yourself into much greater happiness now, despite what may be going on in your life right now, give me a call and I’ll give you a complimentary ‘Idea Session’. In it, I will help you develop a clear action plan for moving into far greater happiness and inspire you to embark upon it.
Meditation & Happiness
Posted by: | CommentsDr. Richard J. Davidson, PhD, who teaches at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, has been studying the brain structures behind not just anxiety, depression, and addiction, but happiness itself!
Using brain imaging technologies, Davidson has been able to “map” the brain of people who were meditating. In this fascinating study, he mapped the brains of employees at a biotech company, more than half of whom completed about three hours of meditation once a week led by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, founding director of the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
After four months, the meditating subjects noticed a boost in mood and a decrease in anxiety, while their immune systems became measurably stronger. Davidson vividly showed that meditation produced a significant increase in activity in the part of the brain responsible for positive emotions and traits like optimism and resilience.
In another study that involved meditating monks, he found that during meditation, this area of the brain lit up like the lights in Times Square, showing activity beyond anything he and his team had ever seen.
These and other findings of Davidson’s have bolstered mounting research suggesting that the adult brain is changeable. Even for those who have a predisposition towards depression or anxiety, meditation can help our brains incline towards a happier outlook.
This new research represents a huge paradigm shift in the study of the brain and the actual sense of possibility for people dealing with difficult emotions.
If you’d like to experience for yourself how powerful meditation can be, I’ve posted a few audio meditations on this site for you to try. One of the ones I like best is ‘All Is Well’. It’s short sweet. To try it, CLICK HERE.
