Double Dog Dare of Self-Love!

October 1, 2015 by Karen Leave a Comment

SELF-LOVE

I interviewed Christine Arylo, the ‘Queen of Self-Love’ on the “Manage Your Energy, Master Your Life” TeleSummit last night. Wow–she was INSPIRING!

She said that when she started her journey, she knew nothing about self-love. But she did know she wanted to live a more self-loving life than the one she was currently leading (in the corporate world), so she made a vow. That’s how it all started. A vow. That she would love herself no matter what. From there, she figured it out.

FEAR & SELF-LOVE!

One of the things she figured out was the way fear can warp our energy and make loving ourselves more difficult. (To listen to the call, here is the replay information It’s only available until 8 pm this Wednesday so go get it! Or, to get info about the rest of the series, go HERE!)

For most of us, nothing can make us feel smaller, more constricted and unworthy as quickly as fear. So Christine has come up with the 40 Day Fear Cleanse. It looks like a great program, one I’m going to do myself. Check it out to see if its for you. 40 Day Fear Cleanse!

“VOWING” SELF-LOVE

Meanwhile, however, since Christine loves to make what she calls “Love dares”, she tossed one out. The dare is to make this vow: “I will love myself for the rest of my life no matter what.”

I like dares too! So I’m going to up her dare so now it’s a double dare. And since my two dogs are beside me, I’ll add them into the mix too, so now it’s a double dog dare to make that vow!!!

Can you?

Of course you can! If it’s challenging, give me a call!

That’s it for this week. For those of you who subscribe to HA!, my HappinessAnyway.com newsletter, I’m going to be repeating the same content while the TeleSummmit is on! Self-Love abounds!

Being Happy Anyway is a Decision!

May 23, 2015 by Karen Leave a Comment

Being Happy About My Book Being Done~!

My apologies for the lack of newsletters lately. I’ve been engrossed in getting a novel to the publishers. It’s now IN!!!! Done! It’ll be out in November! I’ll post more about it closer to the time!

Being Happy and Having Stuff!

I love that our culture is starting to study happiness now and is ‘getting’ that happiness doesn’t result from having stuff. Otherwise, why would the U.S. top the list of countries most suffering from depression? (According to a 2004 study done by the World Health Organization that rated 14 countries.)

Happiness doesn’t result from accomplishing stuff either. The suicides of hugely successful people have woken us up to this fairy tale and have shown us what Jon Kabat-Zinn, the meditation teacher points out, “wherever you go, there you are”.

Irritations That Block Being Happy!

But meanwhile, ‘issues’–things we don’t like or find irritating continue to occur. How to deal with them so you can experience being happy anyway? Here are some tips!

Decide not to be a pinball machine, just reacting to the button-pushing events. Asserting that you have power and choice is HUGE!

Recognize that you can choose being happy anyway. You may not think you have a choice, but just asserting that you do will get you searching for new and different ways of responding.

Let go of any resistance to the fact that an ‘issue’ is there. As Byron Katie says, “When you argue with reality you only lose 100% of the time!”

Now for a special technique. See if you can find ‘space’ for what’s irritating. To do that, you have to become bigger, more expansive. A little visualization will help. Imagine yourself as a huge ocean and see the irritation as a small bit of rubbish floating within it. See it, but within a bigger vastness of Who You Are!

A Meditation for Being Happy!

Here’s a meditation that will help you do that. It’s one I’ve made myself. Check it out. Click HERE to get it. The meditation will help you create the conditions for being happy ‘anyway’–which is a powerful skill to have. Especially in these tsunami-like times!

If you like this meditation and want to explore other techniques for modulating your energy, click on –Change Your Energy, Change Your Life which is a 40-day online course you can try out the first week at no charge to see if you like it!

Energy!

ENERGY!!!

ENERGY is our most precious commodity.

When we have energy and that energy is positive and

lush and lively, we can do almost anything. We can even

overcome problems more easily!

When we don’t have energy, or that energy is slow and/or

negative, we really can’t do much.

Change Your Energy and Change Your Life!

In all my 30 years of coaching, helping people to change their

energy is really what I do. I use a lot of different techniques and I’ve

been putting them together into a course I’ll tell you more about

next week. (It’s a 40-day online course with audios,videos,

meditations, visualizations, tapping procedures & MORE for changing

energy.)

Changing Energy

Let me share a really simple tool for modulating your energy right

now. But first, pick a number between 1 and 10 that describes where

your energy is before you do it, then check again after so you can

test the change. I’m asking you to do this because this particular

exercise is simple. yet is will expand the state of your energy field

and make it more positive.

To try it, click the link HERE

I’ll tell you more next week!

A Powerful Question

October 3, 2014 by Karen Leave a Comment

We ARE what we think about all day long.

If you want to know what you think about, look at your life. Your life is simply the manifestation of all your thoughts over all the years of your life.

If you want your life to be different, you have to THINK differently. This can be a challenge because, as recent studies have shown, the brain is neurologically programmed to notice what isn’t working. In terms of our evolution, this has been a good thing. When you’re in a jungle, you have to look for what’s wrong in order to survive.

Now that we don’t have to keep an eye out for tigers and charging lions, we can step forward into a new way of thinking. This way involves scanning your environment not for what’s wrong, but for what’s right.

As psychologist Martin Seligman, the godfather of the positive psychology moment, has shown, we can learn to be optimists. Optimists consistently talk about what they are rather than what they are not, or what they have instead of what they don’t have. Pessimists talk about why things are not the way they should be and what they don’t have.

If you want to start “inclining the mind” as the Buddhists say, towards what is positive, here is a great tool. Ask yourself this questions throughout your day: “How might this be a good thing?”

This question will get you searching for the positive. It will start training your mind to work the world differently than how it’s been programmed to do. It’s a great start.  Let me know how it goes.
