Hi there! I’m Karen Hood-Caddy, the Happiness Coach.
I’ve always been fascinated by the way some people find a way to be ‘Happy Anyway’, even when they have challenging, or even really difficult things going on.
As a Happiness Coach, I was determined to find out. I’m always looking for ways to help the people i work with, but also because I wanted to know for myself. My life has had lots of painful times and I wanted to know how I could not get so battered around by the tough stuff.
As I explored, I realized that, like most people, I believed that happiness came from outside of me. From people and things, like money and possessions, or accomplishments.
This was fine as long as those ‘outside’ things were going well, but when they weren’t, I wasn’t happy. So, what did I do? Worked darn hard trying to change those people and things that weren’t giving me what I wanted. Not only was this tiring, it made me feel powerless too.
Becoming a Happiness Coach:
I decided I wanted to feel happy no matter what. Which led me to become a Happiness Coach.
What a relief it was to find out that happiness is always inside me. Like the sun, it’s just something that’s there, shining away. Yes, it can covered up by clouds, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be found. It can. I discovered a lot of tools for finding that happiness and this site is dedicated to sharing what I’ve found.

was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” `Anias Nin
My Personal Exploration/Training To Become a Happiness Coach;
I’ve explored a variety of personal growth teachings over my life, I’ve always been more interested in the ‘cutting-edge’ areas of growth. So, even though I was a good student at York University where I studied psychology, it was only when I left school and became a social worker that I started exploring more of the alternative ways of healing and growing. Here are some I have studied.

What I Believe in as a Happiness Coach:
1) Support: No matter what happens to you, if you have support you can not only get through it, but use it as compost to create an even happier life.
2) The Fluidity of Life: Things can change, even when you can’t imagine how.
3) Giving More than required: I am completely devoted to all the people I work with and give to them in every way I can.
4) Inner Resources: You have far more inner resources than you might have imagined.
5) Life is incredibly wonderful. I also know life can be incredibly painful and sad and hard–For most of us, our well-being depends on what we focus on.
As a Happiness Coach, I can help you find the ways to experience, once again, the happiness that is inside you
